We try to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of sailors. This includes helping them to obtain telephone cards to get in touch with loved ones at home. During the cold season they are glad to receive woolly hats, scarves, socks, and gloves. We are grateful that ladies from churches provide many hundreds of them every year.
Besides this we offer spiritual help, pastoral care, and prayer. We have Bibles for seafarers in many languages. In addition, Bible study correspondence courses and books, which we have written, are appreciated by many. If you wish, you can download the PDF files in the “Resources” section. We are ready to conduct church services on board. Our goal is to respond to the individ-ual needs of each seaman. We invite them on occasion to our house because they enjoy the at-mosphere of a private home and a personal conversation.
In our eyes it is important to keep in touch with them via social media when their ships have left our port. If they desire, we let our colleagues in other ports and in their home countries know of their interest.
